Known by many different names, this building is one of the first to be graced by the explorations of MH, and we are equally grateful. It's enormous confines are encircled by a moat-like river, and it's presence cannot be avoided should you be crossing the road bridge nearby. Train tracks running the other side of the grounds are crossed over quite frequently by cargo loads, and will shake the ground as you explore the many rooms of this piece of abandoned art. With variety and plenty of challenge, this building will keep you on your toes until you find a way out, always offering something new with every return.

Although not an actual hydro-electric power plant, but a coal-power plant, we like to keep with our original guess as to the building's identity. It's features are a likely cause for vertigo with every corner turned, as it has a giant silo, massive spaces full of strange findings, rooms that can inspire even the most uncreative individuals, and plenty of copper harvesters, although there is little to no copper left to be found. With massive windows stretching high along the walls, deep underground tunnels running underneath your feet, and that smell that comes from abandonment, this place is a beast.

Also known as the Lower Town Depot, this spot rests on the grounds of a nature reserve, and sits nearby train tracks, as it used to be a train yard housing space. As soon as you enter, the clues become appearant. They were planning on changing the space into apartment rooms, and seemingly ran into problems. After shutting down construction, and closing the model homes to visitors, it became a favorite spot for junkies. Don't let this scare you though, every level, although not quite full of variety, is asthetically pleasing, and features windows to glance upon downtown St. Paul with.

Should you find yourself craving molasses, fish oil, and an unnaturally high view of beautiful downtown Minneapolis at night, Purina is for you. It's confines feature office space aplenty, mill like settings, equipment such as forklifts and elevators, and 4000 gallon tanks of molasses, fish oil, and various types of acid. Headaches insue. If the smell doesn't bother you, take the time to learn the corners of this massive complex, and it's secrets, for it holds plenty for those who are willing to get dirty and risk life and limb to find them.

Much more than it seems to be, this is a gem among buildings for a few key reasons. As the building was established by the government in the 80's, this fact becomes apparent by the decoration. It's very well kept, clean, and tidy, with plenty of cookie cutter labs, offices, and different things to see, such as million dollar computers. Should you travel here at night, you'll wish you've never seen a horror movie before, because the resemblance is striking. Flashlights are also very hard to use as most of the building is covered in windows, and the highway is close by, but should you forget this key instrument, you can always flick a light switch...
