A first class photographer from Minneapolis, Rin, is the leading force for the group. Willing to enter any room, climb any ladder, or go down any long dark tunnel, he is also probably the biggest risk-taker of the group. He was one of the founders of Municipal Heroes, more about how it all started on our History Page.

Unsure of his true reason for exploring besides the thrill and history of it all, Socrates does much of the work behind the scenes. He is the web-master of the Municipal Heroes Website. On trips, he is the one member, much to his(and others') dismay, with the biggest imagination for what could inhabit every dark nook of the building. He can often be found hysterically laughing the fear away. Socrates joined in much the same way as Rin and has been with MH from the very beginning.

Averna

Sometimes-photographer and history enthusiast, Averna isn't all that surprised MH managed to suck her in. Now, climbing and taking pictures, Averna figures she's more determined to be brave than she is actually brave, which may be a bravery within itself. She's somehow evolved from backyard explorations into urban explorations and since her first Fruin trip, and officially declaring herself a 'hero' along with Rin and Socrates, she hasn't looked back once.

Between juggling work and school, Thalia tries to make it to as many trips as she can, but when she can make it, she's full of curiousity, and spunk. Thalia is a fantastic partner to take with you into the bowels of an old rotting basement, or across chasms of darkness, seemingly fearless, and ready to explore what ever new sights await at the turn of the corner. Life is but an action movie for Thalia, and the stunts are all real.

"O"

With a cool reserve, and a flawless entry, "O" is the one most likely to climb over the side of a brick wall, even if the door to the other side is unlocked. Should we face a challenge of any sort, it's no problem for "O" as he goes about looking for the most direct answer, and then follows it to the end, fearlessly, and with a smile on his face. Some of our most daring entrances have been made by "O" and he returns with some beautiful photo work as well, a well rounded hero.

Artemis and Pengi

Artemis and Pengi have had some of the most exciting adventures with the Municipal Heroes to date. Their very first experience involved meeting a society of copper-harvesters and almost getting arrested in one day, both inicidents where screaming and yelling may have been what they only wish they could have done. After some reluctance, they recently joined the team and will be involved in many more ventures in the near future.
